After pre-orders of the upgraded Redmi Note 5 (review) model went live earlier this week, the official sale of the smartphone is going to begin very soon. This particular model has a significant number of differences when compared with the regular Redmi Note 5 and our readers will get to know everything right here.

Redmi Note 5 128GB Model: Sale, Offers

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is going to go on sale in China at 7:30 AM IST, with its price set at CNY 1669, or approximately Rs. 16884. The difference between this version and the model being sold in India is that the one going on sale has more RAM, more internal storage and a chipset that is more powerful than the Snapdragon 625. The upgraded Redmi Note 5 features a Snapdragon 636, resulting in better performance for the average buyer.

Redmi Note 5: Specifications, Features

Featuring a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 provides a resolution of 2160 x 1080 in an 18:9 aspect ratio. For performance, this smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset made on the 14nm process and it is paired with either 3GB, 4GB of RAM, and just recently, 6GB of RAM too, which is fueled by the Snapdragon 636. As far as the storage is concerned, there are a total of three variants now. The base version features 32GB of internal memory, followed by a 64GB model and with the latest announcement, there is a 128GB version added to the family.

This storage is easily expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card but it will use up the second SIM slot. Coming to the optics, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 features a dual-camera setup at the back with a 12 + 5MP configuration, and a 13MP unit at the front that can record 1080p videos at 30fps. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 does very well in the battery department as it features a 4000mAh capacity, meaning that you will be able to get through an entire day without needing to plug in the phone.

The smartphone also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, so the battery can get topped up very quickly. On the software front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 runs Android 8.0 Oreo running the latest MIUI version on top. In terms of connectivity options, the Redmi Note 5 houses a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band chip, Bluetooth 4.2 with LE support, GPS with A-GPS support, 4G LTE, Infrared port, FM radio and a microUSB 2.0 port.

Redmi Note 5: Price In India

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is available to purchase in India for both the 32GB and 64GB storage models. The 32GB storage model, which features 3GB of RAM is sold at a price of Rs. 9999 on Flipkart and the Mi Store.

The 4GB RAM model features 64GB of internal memory and is sold for Rs. 11999 on both online stores. If you are looking for a smartphone that offers everything to you and is affordable at the same time, look no further than the Redmi Note 5. However, if you want something even better but goes easy on your wallet, you should go for the Redmi Note 5 Pro (review).

We will also recommend that you continue to follow Mi India’s Twitter page for the latest updates on whether or not this Redmi Note 5 variant is going to land in the country. If it does, it will be able to provide other manufacturers with a lot of competition and competition is always a good thing for buyers as they have a lot of options to explore in the markets then.
